Bio
I am a writer and designer/maker of pretty objects. I create jewelry and use a lot of macrame skills to do so. I've made a lot of bracelets for nonprofits, and I love working alongside them. The nonprofit organizations I have worked with so far include Bit by Bit (with which I worked under the name 'Knot by Knot'), a local nonprofit that provides therapeutic horseback riding for those with special needs, Wild Heart Ranch, another local nonprofit, that takes in injured and sick wild animals and rehabilitates them to return them to nature, and Freedom's Song Wolf Rescue, which rescues wolves and wolf-dogs and provides them with better living situations.
My next goal is to work with Project Semicolon, creating bracelets featuring a small, hand-stamped metal charm with a semicolon on it. The bracelets will be knotted in a style like friendship bracelets but will be made from much higher quality materials (like the brand "PV"). The cord used will be waterproof and fade-resistant, and the bracelets will be adjustable to fit every wrist. I'm super-excited about this project and it hits close to home. I'm the survivor of multiple suicide attempts. I try not to forget how bad depression has been for me without getting completely pulled under by it. I was diagnosed with depression at 12. Now, around 20 years later, I'm still trying to beat it. Every single day is a struggle, but some are worse than others. I also have several new physical disabilities, and it can be extremely difficult to stay on task if I can even get started at all. I'm trying, but it's hard.
My loving husband and our two cats keep me grounded and happy.
