Web table feature – unsupported content
-
I have tried several times to insert a table into Day One web app and, each time I do, within a couple of minutes, I suspect after having synced to my iOS devices, the web app shows “unsupported content”. I have not tried to do any editing or inputs into the iOS pages, which continue to show the table. It is only the web app (Mac Tahoe 26.5) that shows the unsupported content message. Any ideas please?

Hi @andrewwray – We did fix an issue related to this in version 2026.4 of the iOS app. Can you check that your app is updated to the latest version?
If that doesn’t help, can you describe exactly how you’re inserting the table into the web app? Are you using the table button in the toolbar, or another method?
Thanks.

Thanks for getting back to me. The table shows up normally in the iOS app however in the web app I only see the unsupported content. The table was created in the web app using the insert table icon just above the entry.

Hi @andrewwray,
Thanks for the extra detail. I tried to reproduce this on my end, but wasn’t able to – the table created in the web app remained intact after syncing to iOS and back.
A few things that would help us narrow this down:
- App version – could you check the version of the Day One iOS app you have installed? (Settings > About)
- Steps to reproduce – after inserting the table in the web app, do you close the web app before opening iOS, or do both remain open? Does the “unsupported content” message appear immediately after iOS syncs, or only after you open the entry on iOS?
- Hard refresh – try a hard refresh on the web app (Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R) after the table disappears to rule out a display cache issue.

Thanks for getting back to me and, so strange but today the table is functioning just fine and so I think we have to assume that the problem is resolved. to answer your question though I am on iOS version 2026.8 (2723) and my Mac is on Version 26.5 Beta (25F5042g).
In the meantime I will keep using the table and will let you know if there are other issues in the future. Thanks for the assistance… Andrew

I tell a lie. The issue has just repeated itself and it is related to the Mac desktop app. I just did the update to 2026.8 (1748) and immediately the web app gave me the unsupported content message and I no longer can edit the table. Interestingly the table survives on the iOS apps and the desktop app. The unsupported content message is only on the web browser which is Safari Version 26.5 (21624.2.1.11.1)

Hi @andrewwray!
What you’re running into is a compatibility issue between the Mac desktop app and the web app when it comes to tables. When the Mac native app syncs the entry, it appears to be storing the table in a format that the web app can’t currently display. This explains why it shows “unsupported content” there, while iOS and the Mac native app both render it just fine.
The good news is your table data is not lost. The entries should be intact on iOS and in the Mac desktop app.
In the meantime:
- Use the Mac native app or iOS app to view and edit the table. Both will work correctly
- Avoid editing the table in the web browser for now, as that could trigger further adjustments
We’ll update this thread if we have news on a fix.
