Transparency regarding AI partner

i just saw the launch of Day One Gold. It appears it is sending data to 3rd party AI providers. Who are they? Where are they based? I would like to know.
Honestly since journal is private matter, it’s best to use on device AI, second best to use Day One self-hosted AI, the least desirable is 3rd party.

In my opinion, keeping such secrets about the AI Partner makes DayOne seem untrustworthy. What is behind this secrecy?

Here is what we can share about how Day One handles AI features:
- AI features in Day One Gold are opt-in and off by default. You can disable them at any time in Settings.
- When you use an AI feature, only the content you have selected is processed. That content is temporarily decrypted on your device, sent over HTTPS to the AI service, used to generate a response, and then deleted. It is not stored on our servers or those of the AI services we use.
- Your journal content is never used to train AI models, except in cases where you have explicitly granted permission.
- Our AI features page (dayoneapp.com/features/ai-features/) notes that AI services used by Day One ‘may be a third-party service like OpenAI.’ We understand that is not a fully specific answer about the current provider(s) and if we decide to share that info in the future it will be added there.
