Problem with password on Windows app
-
When signing in to DayOne on the web I use my email address and a password I set. When I activated the new password function in the Windows app (“Enable password protection”) I did not enter a password since I presumed it would use the same one for the web version. I instead went to “Change password”, entered the password I use for DayOne on the web as the current password, then a new password for the app. I received the error message “current password incorrect”, so I see that the Windows app did not use the web version password. Now if I try to add or change the password, I always get the same error message “current password incorrect”, although I never entered one in the Windows app. I’m concerned now that if I use “password lock” I will not be able to enter the Windows app again. How can I reset this?

A follow-up on my first post:
When I enabled password protection in the Windows app I took these steps:
“File – Password Lock – Password Setup – Enable Password Protection – Save” – but without entering a password since I assumed it would use the password for the web version. So what password did the Windows app “save”, and how can I access that password to change it to a password of my choice?
The web version is unaffected by this behavior. It still correctly uses the original password to log in.
