Loss of journals
-
l have lost all my journals except the default one.
My Day one was open on a phone that suddenly get blocked. I tried to move my Day one to another phone after one month as recommended for no premium users.
Then, all journals created by me got lost. The app asks me to provide encryption key or to scan a QR code from the other phone that is broken. Which is not possible as the other phone is not functioning properly.
I need support. The lost journals are the most important. Is it possible to send the encryption key to my email ? If it can help to recover the lost journals.
Thank you.

Also, while you’re waiting for support, try going to the web site DayOne.me. Regardless of whether you have an old phone or a new phone, you should be able to see all existing journals. To do this successfully, though, you’ll need to log in to DayOne.me using the same credentials that you used to log in to Day One on your phone.
I’ll bet that your journals are not completely lost, but just inaccessible on the mobile device right now. Once you get those other issues worked out, you’d be able to access all of your previous journals.
Once you are working again, I highly recommend that you make a copy of your encryption key to a safe place (or multiple safe places). For example (if you’re using an Apple phone), you can have the encryption key saved to iCloud. Then, when you log in to your Apple account on a new phone, you should have access to the encryption key. But even writing the key down on paper and storing that paper in a safe place (such as a fire safe) is a good step forward.
