Lock single entry

Now that Day One has been Sherlocked it’s time to think about consumer requests. I gather from your AI response that others have asked for what is no doubt the biggest advantage of a digital journal: the ability to lock individual entries (NOT the whole journal; that’s basic). I would add that marketing needs to include those of us not moved by New Age journal frou-frou. Yes, that’s a market and take advantage of it. But there are also sober advantages to the journal as aide memoire, diary of daily events, a record of regime practices etc.
But most important is the ability to lock individual entries! I look forward to this, even if it’s only in Premium

We appreciate your suggestion about locking individual entries and will consider it for future updates. Your point about marketing to a broader audience beyond the New Age journaling niche is well-taken. I have passed your feedback to the team for consideration.

Hey! Totally agree — locking individual entries is a game changer, not just the whole journal. I’ve been using Day One for years and the lack of per-entry privacy is exactly why I’m looking elsewhere now. It’s interesting how they missed that core need while focusing on the aesthetic crowd. Speaking of which, if you want to explore more about how apps actually track which features users really want (versus what they think we want), the analytics side is fascinating. But yeah, here’s hoping whatever replaces it actually listens to the practical users, not just the journal-frou-frou market.
