How to add footnote to text?
-
Ever since Day One stop supporting native markdown, I’ve been fail to find a way to add footnote to my journal. The old way is to use ^1, what is the new way?

Hello @ruczhangxy. Thanks for reaching out. Markdown footnotes are not supported the new editor for Day One (since version 3.0). It is possible to use footnotes when you use code blocks to write the entries. It is a bit of a workaround, but it may work for your needs. Hi. I admit I’m a little bit fuzzy on the markdown and I did look at your guide and I’m trying to figure out which one will best accomplish the footnotes support. Also, can I do this on the mac desktop app or is this something I can only do on the web and FYI, the web version is throwing a 502 ERRORThe request could not be satisfied.CloudFront. I will put in an a ticket for this. Thank you in advance and this is happening on Safari, Firefox and Chrome on Mac Sonoma 14.1.1

Hi! You’ll find an example of the text you need to paste to create footnotes here:
https://github.com/adam-p/markdown-here/wiki/Markdown-Cheatsheet#footnotes
Please note that it may not work if you type it manually. Try typing the complete text in a note editor first, and then copy and paste it into Day One.
Regarding the web app, it appears to be properly working at https://dayone.me/. If you still see a 502 ERROR, try clearing your browser cache.
