How do I get word count to count a one-word link as one word?

  Using the word count feature in a document with links is causing word counts to be off by literally hundreds of words for me. Is there any way to get word counts to reflect the number of words in the document regardless of whether they are links or not? The way it works right now, the word count feature is completely unusable if there is even a single link in the document.

  Trying this out for myself I see what you mean. The app sees characters, like a hyphen, as separate words. A link like this one https://forums.dayoneapp.com/forums/topic/how-do-i-get-word-count-to-count-a-one-word-link-as-one-word/#post-382 counts as 24 words in our Mac app.

  I’ve reported this to our team for investigation. I can see why it’d be annoying for you as you write to have this happen, but there currently isn’t a built-in way to make the app count a URL as 1 word
