Dayone Book Printing
-
I’ve kept a Day One journal for nearly 15 years and printed quite a few books from it. What always bugged me was the printing end: one page size, one paper, little control over layout. I have seen many requests over the years on improving the printing capabilities of Dayone but despite some positive sounding replies , I believe the requests fell on deaf ears at Dayone. I decided not to wait any longer so , I wrote my own print app to print my journals.
I made my app, Mosaic Collage Maker (Mac and Windows), read a Day One export directly. You get a book in any size (A4, A5, square, or exactly what your printer asks for), a print-ready PDF you own, one designed page per entry or a photobook, and every page stays editable. Nothing is uploaded: it all runs on your own computer, with no account.
What it doesn’t do: videos, audio and PDF attachments aren’t included — only photos and writing. And it isn’t a replacement for Day One’s convenience of ordering inside the app; you export a file and send it to a printer yourself, but it does give editing flexibility not available in Dayone.
