DayOne app won’t load on iPhone keep saying Waiting

I’ve been using DayOne for many years but today it won’t load. It’s just a faded icon that says “Waiting…” Please help. I’ve turned my phone off and back on. I can’t even delete or reinstall DayOne because it’s just a frozen icon

I’m having this exact same problem too. After years of using the free version of Day One, the icon is now greyed out and says “waiting”. I’ve done your suggested actions, ie shut down and restarted the phone, manually updated the app (it didn’t need updating), added another payment method. The app simply will not launch. I am even willing to pay for an upgrade but cannot get into the app to do this. Please advise.
