DayOne 2026.5 macOS freezes when dropping photo

After update to version 2026.5, every time when I drag and drop photo from Photos app, Day One gives me option about metadata and then freezes. I need to kill app and run again.
Can you please fix this issue. I use this for inserting images into records.

I just did some testing, and it does seem to work as expected on my end.
Can you give us a little more info? How many images are you dragging at once?
Does it happen no matter the number of images?
When the metadata window pops up, does the app freeze before allowing you to select a metadata option?

No metter how many images I’m draging, one or two, every time after dialog with metadata appears, app freezes before I can click.

I found workaround. I select images in Photos and use CMD+C and CMD+V in Day One to insert it. It works without issues.

We haven’t been able to reproduce the issue so far, so I’m glad you were able to find a workaround. We’ll keep an eye out for any similar reports, but if you can check for any crash logs, that would help us to investigate:

I am having the same issue. I could not find the crash logs using the info in the above mentioned link but I have sent multiple ones to Apple. I copied the last one and can send it to you.
