  Day One was a great app, but the new pricing and AI creeping into the app puts me off.

  Thanks for reaching out to us and thank you for your feedback.

  AI features in Gold are entirely optional. If you don’t enable AI features or engage them, they don’t touch your entries.

  When you do use them, your content is processed only in that moment and is never used to train AI models. The privacy principles Day One is known for haven’t changed.

  Not everyone wants AI in their journal, and that’s fine. Silver remains a powerful, complete journaling experience without it.
