Create entry with date, but not time

  Is there a way to create an entry with the current date but no time as the default setting?

  Create, no. But you can create a new journal entry (which by default has both a date and time) and then set the newly existing entry to have no time.

  Click the date at the top of the entry editing pane. This opens the entry date editing dialog. The check the box titled All-day.

  The entry with then have only a date and no time.
