Collections feature in Windows and web apps

It may be on the way, but adding the collections feature to the Windows and web apps will make them so much easier, as they will more closely mirror the mobile apps.

Good news, this is already here! Journal Collections has shipped on all Day One platforms now, including Web and Windows, so you can group your journals into folders the same way you can on mobile.
To create one, open the Journals section and click the Add button in the header, then choose New Collection. The steps are the same on both Web and Windows.
One thing worth knowing: creating and using collections requires a Day One Gold or Silver subscription.

Thank you for the response, but I am still not seeing this functionality on my Windows and web apps (dayone.me). I have Day One Gold, and I can view the collections I have created on the Android app, but the Windows and web apps are still listing journals individually on the left hand side. Is there some update that I need to download?

Journal Collections are meant to work on the Windows and web apps too, not just mobile, so what you’re seeing shouldn’t be happening.
A couple of things to try first:
- Fully close and reopen the Windows app, and do a hard refresh on the web app (or sign out and back in). That makes sure both are pulling your latest data.
- On the web app, you can create or move a journal into a collection using the right-click menu on the sidebar. Drag and drop into a collection isn’t available yet on web or Windows, so the right-click menu is the way to manage them there for now.
If you still don’t see any collection grouping in the sidebar after trying that, let us know. We’re aware this area is still getting updates, and it’s possible your account hasn’t picked up the latest changes yet. We’d like to look into it further with you if the steps above don’t fix it.
