Can selected text be changed to a different font and/or colour?

Hi all.
I am getting used to Day One a bit more now, having used the old Outlook XP Journal component for years.
One thing that I have been doing regularly in Outlook is showing the text of an email that I’ve sent, or one that I’ve received, in fairly small Courier New font, and in a different colour, and with bold format. This separates the messages that relate to an entry from the text of an entry itself.
I assumed I could do this in Day One and so I selected the text of a message and changed the font to Courier New, but I then found that this change of font that I’d only wanted to apply only to the selected text got applied to the whole entry.
Is there no way to format only selected text in Day One?

Hi, @j6d6j2s2yd! Currently, fonts are applied to the entire text. That’s said, we do have an open feature request for applying different font styles to sections of an entry, and I’ve made sure to add a vote for it on your behalf.
In the meantime, what do you think of highlighting sections instead? This way, you’re still able to differentiate the text in your entries?
