Windows and Mac Hyperlinks (URLs) – can’t add to text!

  I can add a link to text very easily on my iPad or iPhone, but NOT in the Mac app or the Windows program. I even tried the markdown method: [text](link). Nothing. It just stares back at me. It would be nice if these worked on all platforms consistently.

  If you highlight the text that is to be the anchor for the link and right-click, the context menu that appears has two commands pertaining to links. One of them is to add a link.

  But by far the fastest way is to use the keyboard shortcut. With the target link on the clipboard, this takes no more than 1-2 seconds.

  1. Select the anchor text.
  2. Press ⌘-K.
  3. Paste the link into the text box that appears.
  4. Press Return.
