Unresponsive on iPad
-
After the last update to v 2024.24, Day One became unresponsive on my iPad. i can open a new entry, but after that, the app does not react to any input – neither via magic keyboard nor on screen touches. I even tried a re-install, but that didnt help. App works fine on iPhone and Mac.

Exact problem here. I have opened several new documents, but they all cannot be typed in. There is no way to do anything except force close the app and then you can delete the new entries but app is basically nonfunctional since the new update. This is with iPad Air, latest iOS firmware, latest Day One version. (as of today’s date, 11/25/24)
Please Fix this issue.

Forgot to mention, I am also using magic keyboard but still does not work if I remove the keyboard. I have tried force closing all of my apps. I have tried a reboot of the iPad, all with the same result. (non-functional Day One app)

i have the same problem- i can type a response to the daily prompt but after opening the main entry screen the app becomes unresponsive. also using magic keyboard, all other word processor apps work..
-
edited to add: i realised this issue yesterday after typing for several minutes then looking up and realising nothing was on the screen. that “entry” still exists as does todays, both though show nothing. cursor does not move (didn’t unwittingly activate black type on dark mode)

workaround, not solution: after filling in prompt, completely close app and upon reopening immediately move to main daily entry. works so far.. is irritating when using the app as a morning ritual
-
workaround was a one day long solution. today yet again only responding to the prompt was possible. closing the app and reopening to write didn’t help. anyone else found a way?

@z2wg6f8c79 Can you please confirm which app version you’re on?
Locating the version number of Day One
-
do you mean premium? can’t find any other version description than that..
now it sometimes lets me type, sometimes doesn’t. I’m on automatic updates.

@z2wg6f8c79 You should be able to find that version number under About.
Day One > Settings > Scroll down to the bottom > About
The version number will be displayed right at the top after tapping About.
