Unable to use Day One as app restores showing entry and UI unresponsive

Hello. Currently Day One on my iPhone, running iOS 16.5.1, can’t be used. When I start Day One, after Face ID, it shows an existing entry and the UI is unresponsive. I can’t tap any of the buttons, tap the text View or swipe to dismiss the modal. I’ve tried killing Day One, restarting my iPhone and creating a Shortcut which creates a new Day One entry. None of these fix the issue.
Hopefully there is a solution other than reinstalling the app. Thanks in advance for any hello you can provide. -
I’ve fixed it! A long press on the app icon, and choosing search has allowed me to unfreeze the app. Phew!
