Unable to highlight word to edit or cut/paste/spell check, etc

I am using the latest version of Day One (2025.6) on my iPad Air and I no longer have the ability to long press on a word in any journal entry to highlight it in order to correct the spelling (if it is underlined in red by Apple), or in order to do a function like cut, copy, paste, select, etc.
I have tried closing the app, force closing the app, rebooting the iPad after shutting it down, and still I cannot edit.
Any attempt at a long hold on any word in a journal entry just seems to get me a flash to the screen and all of a sudden I am at the top of the journal entry.

Just for some additional information, the problem does NOT seem to occur with the same version of Day One on my iPhone. Also, I created a new entry on my iPhone that seemed to work ok (with the long hold of a word bringing up the ability to edit/cut/copy, etc., but when it synced to me iPad air, it again had the same problem. You cannot highlight a word, whether underlined as misspelled or just to edit the word on the iPad. Fairly frustrating, since when typing, there are often words that I misspell and want to quickly correct (autocorrect is OFF for me by default), or to cut/paste or any other function on that pop-up menu becomes essentially nonfunctional.

This problem was first noticed with the update from 2 days ago, btw. It did not occur prior to that.

Issue is there for me, too. Using DO on iPad and Apple keyboard is not possible anymore even with latest release. Frustrating.

The update 2025 6 1 did nothing to fox the problem…….that is what I meant by the statement “even with the latest release”.
I am using the magic keyboard with my iPad.

This may due to another issue that was resolved in version 2025.6.2.
Could you please update to that version and let us know if you’re still running into that?

I have not used the app much since updating yesterday, but on initial tries yesterday, it seemed to be improved. It was clearly related to the use of the Magic Keyboard since removing the iPad from the keyboard also allowed selecting word/words.
