Transfer data between 2 Premium account

    I previously had a DayOne Premium membership registered with email A. Now I want to switch to a different email, so I registered a new account with email B and also activated Premium on it.

    Currently, on my computer, I logged out from the account associated with email A and logged in with email B. However, when I tried to sync with email B, I received a prompt saying “There is an error retrieving your encryption key”. How can I sync using email B?

    1. Is the subscription purchased through Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or directly from your account at dayone.me/settings? If it is purchased on the App Store or Play Store, you can sign in to the app with the desired email and then Restore Purchases to apply the subscription to the new email. https://dayoneapp.com/guides/troubleshooting/premium-subscription-troubleshooting/
    2. It sounds like the encryption key is not present for the new account. Without sharing the key here (or any personal information), is the encryption key present on any device in the following places?
    • iOS: Day One > Settings > Sync > Encryption Key
    • Mac: Day One > Settings > Sync > Advanced > View Encryption Key
    • Android: Day One > Settings > Sync > Encryption Key
    • Web: Day One > Settings > Account > Encryption Key
