Touch ID not an option after security timeout on Mac
-
I have my Day One on Mac set to time out and require a passcode/Touch ID after 10 minutes. I used to be able to get a Touch ID prompt when I tried to get back into Day One, but now I am not presented with that option at all. The only way to get it back is to complete close and reopen the app.
Please let me know what information you need. Thanks.

Thanks for reaching out, @rfbriggs!
Can you find the version number of Day One and let us know what you have? See here:
https://dayoneapp.com/guides/settings/locating-the-version-number-of-day-one/If you restart the Mac, does the option to use Touch ID work in Day One when the time out happens?

v 2024.18 (1590)
I rebooted, but it still happens intermittently. I can’t predict when it will or will not allow a prompt for Touch ID.

Once this happens again, can you please contact us directly and send us diagnostics so we can look further into this?
Day One > Settings > Support > Export Diagnostics
Those will then be sent directly to us.

This keeps happening intermittently. The Export Diagnostics did not send anything automatically. Where should I send this file?

@rfbriggs If you choose the “Contact Support” option, it will export diagnostics and set up an email for you to send to us here at Day One Support.
Day One > Settings > Support > Contact Support
I would suggest linking this forum in that email so the support rep who handles that ticket can refer to this and get more info from here.
