text formatting

  Hi, 
  
  I would just like to check, is there a way to turn off auto-formatting? When i type * day one * – i want the text to look as i typed it, instead of it automatically changing to italics.

  When i type * day one * – i want the text to look as i typed it, instead of it automatically changing to italics. 

  Day One does convert some Markdown into rich text in the editor. Using asterisks around text will convert it to italics and there is not currently a way to disable this. Are you wanting to highlight certain text with asterisks? Is there another format that would work for you in your journaling routine?
