Tags Not Being Applied in iOS Shortcuts “Create Entry” Action

I want to create entries using iOS Shortcuts.
In the Create Entry action, when I tap Tags, I’m able to select a variable. However, after selecting the variable, it is added briefly and then immediately removed.
When I run the shortcut, the tags are not applied to the created entry.What’s strange is that when I added tags using an iPad, they were applied correctly. However, when I tried the same thing on an iPhone, the issue described above occurred.
I confirmed that the iPhone is running the latest version, but I haven’t been able to check the iPad’s version yet.I’d like to know whether this is something I’m doing incorrectly or if it’s a bug.
For reference, the item I tried to add to Tags was the result of splitting a text by new lines.
I also confirmed that even plain text cannot be added to the Tags field. -
It’d be great to get diagnostics from all devices where you are seeing this issue, and also get a screen recording demonstrating the issue.

We have seen the same behavior on iPhone, the Tags field clears itself and the tags do not get applied.
Our engineers have traced this to how iOS Shortcuts shows that Tags field, and it appears to be an iOS issue that we have reported to Apple. For now, there is not a reliable fix we can apply on our side. We’ll need to wait for an iOS update that addresses the issue.
If you need a workaround in the meantime, the best option is to create the entry from the shortcut without tags, then add tags in Day One afterward. If tagging from an iPad works for you, that can also be a temporary workaround.
