Spellcheck on windows app
-
Hi everyone,
I’m so pleased to see a dedicated windows application for Day One! Thanks a lot!
I have one small issue though, it does spellchecking, underlining everything in red, while the function is turned off on my windows OS. This does not happen in the browser version of the app.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this?
Regards,
Mátyás

Hi @perfectlyinspiring051c517061,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing the feedback!
Would you mind sharing your operating system and your device? (e.g., Surface Pro 10, WIndows 11)
If you could share a screenshot or screen recording of this behavior in a test entry, that’d be very helpful.

Hi Bluejay,
Sure. It is a PC, with windows 10. OS language is English. A print-screen of a new entry, while the type setting is open as well to show that the feature is turned off. The begining of the text is in Hungarian, it highlights every word, also highlights misspelt English words.

I hope this helps.

Hi @perfectlyinspiring051c517061,
I’ve reported this issue to our developers. It does appear to be a bug that we need to address in the Windows app.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we’ll work on getting a fix out.

Hi All,
Thank you for forwarding this to the dev team.
Is there an expected date for the update, resolution of the issue.
Some extra info if in case it might be helpful: even changing the OS language to Hungarian, does not resolve the issue, still all non English words are underlined.
Regards,

Glad to hear others are enjoying the new dedicated Windows app – I have been for several weeks now.
In fact, I’m now in the process of switching from another app, and already appreciate much about the Day One for Windows. But I hope we’ll see further development, especially adding features already available on the other platforms.
Dev. team, thank you for (finally) bringing Day One to Windows. Keep up the good work! -
@perfectlyinspiring051c517061, we don’t have an expected timeframe for a fix as of yet, unfortunately, but hopefully our developers will have one ready soon!
