Slow entry to entry on Sonoma

Hi, I am using iMac and Sonoma. Day One is up to date. When I try to move from entry to entry. I have just timed it at ten seconds, although it has often taken longer. It makes the programme pretty unusable. Any ideas, gratefully received. I had no problems at all before I upgraded to Sonoma.
