Signing in with Apple created another account, can’t sign in

Hi, I opened Day One today to see the prompt to log in with Apple. I accidentally closed this window and tried opening Day One again to make it pop up again, but it didn’t. I looked in the settings and it said “Apple ID connected” under my user ID so I assumed it had connected anyway. I went to sign in with my Apple ID on the Day One website to confirm this, and it created a whole new account without any of my existing data. I now can’t figure out any way to fix this. I also can’t figure out any ways to log into my account from the website or another device. I subscribed to premium to be able to contact support but I can’t log in on iOS in order to do this. Please help!! I don’t want my journal to be lost but I can’t figure out any way to secure it.

Still looking for help with this. Is it possible that there isn’t an email address associated with the Day One account on my computer? I have tried recovering my password but no email gets sent (I’ve checked spam) and I don’t see any emails from Day One in my email account aside from the recent one about the creation of the new account with my Apple ID. Can someone help with this or email me please? I have my user ID but that’s all.
