Search within attached PDF files

So I’ve attached some PDF files and validated that I can’t search within any PDF file I’ve attached. I’m note sure if this feature request has been submitted or not but I would like to request this. Without this ability, attaching PDF files or doing a scan to pdf isn’t as useful as I had hoped. Thanks!

I want this too. Would make DayOne my Ubertool for all kinds of documentation. That would be great. 👍
I could not find the entry to vote for it.
@staff-cara please give a vote for me as well. 🙏

Please add my vote to this too. At the moment I have to write some key metadata underneath the PDF to make it ‘surface’ in a search a bit better.

I’m sharing this here because this morning I discovered something that blew my whole mind and I know others could benefit from it. It’s a workaround but it works.
If you open the PDF on your computer, Select All and copy, then paste it into Day One, something magical happens. It will paste every page image and the text of each page after. Amazing! Try it. You end up with image, text, image, text. I LOVE THIS! It is such an amazing time saver and I will be using it all day today.
I was so excited I posted this find in the Day One Reddit group.

Now, of course, this only works for typed pages, but it’s even nice for handwritten pages that you just would like to see, page after pages that you can scroll in a Day One entry.
There’s a hack for you. I even contacted Day One support about it. Bet they won’t even say thank you. 🤣
