Roadblock to subscribing. Can community help with billing?

I’ve been wanting to subscribe to Day One (a Plus member since the beginning).
for my latest attempt , DO seems to want to bill me in a currency I don’t want to pay (I want to pay in USD). There doesn’t seem to be a way to change the billing currency for my current account.
I sent a support request to DO and received a response that DO does not provide support for such a request and I would be best placed consulting the community via this forum. (Really? DO brushes off prospective new paying customers?)
Appreciate any possible support from the community.

Hi @addavis01af08d88d5c, thank you for reaching out! Which platform are you attempting to subscribe on (ex: Mac, iPhone, Android, web)? Each platform uses a different product for subscriptions so this will help us to troubleshoot the issue and provide some guidance.

@staff-mobileriuI initially attempted to subscribe on iOS. I have since tried to do so on macOS, with the same result.
(Sorry for the delay in responding. It has been very hard to get back into this forum. Every time I log in I get diverted to a WordPress forum for some unknown reason.)
I would appreciate your advice on how to subscribe.

Hello @addavis01af08d88d5c. Thanks for following up. When subscribing via the App Store, the currency is controlled by Apple and the country in which you are located.
There is an option to subscribe directly from us by signing in to your account at https://dayone.me/settings. Click
Go Premium. Let us know if you see USD when subscribing that way.

Thank you. Could you please confirm that my lifetime Plus status will not be lost if I switch to direct subscription?

You keep the Plus (legacy) status as long as you keep the same Apple ID that was used to purchase Day One 2.0 before June 2017. https://dayoneapp.com/guides/premium-subscription/what-happens-if-my-premium-subscription-expires-or-is-canceled

Thank you staff-James. That seems to have worked, (though the billing will not go through until the 30-day trial completes and hopefully will be in the correct currency).
