Retrieve encryption key iCloud login broken

My encryption key is backed up in iCloud. Using the web I click to unlock my journals and in the pop-up window that appears I sign in with iCloud. For the past 48hrs nothing happens when you click on ‘Sign in with iCloud’. The only option therefore is to laboriously enter the code manually. This sign in with iCloud used to work no problem at all, what has changed?

@yr5rh9hqdp Have you already signed in to your iCloud or Apple ID in the same browser?
Would it help if you sign in to your Apple ID first, before clicking the “Sign in with iCloud” in the pop-up window?
Also, what browser did you use and its version?
