quick switch from “On this day” to Listview

    Hi,

asking about 2024.11 (1563) on MacOS

I use the “On this day” a lot. when I see something on former years that I want to change (e.g. merge multiple entries into one) it’s pretty cumbersome to do that. I first have to get into list-view and scroll back to this day. it would be nice to click somewhere and have that day (exactly one year back) on my list view.

maybe I am just missing it?

    thanks for any feedback.

    Best,

    Stephan

I found a solution. you can filter for “on this day” and then access the entries there. but there is one little piece missing:

when I click On This Day option in the Journal panel I can also switch to days before and after with the arrows. but I cannot merge entries.

when I use the filter I can merge the entries but I cannot switch the chosen day (it’s always today)

    any help here?

    best,

    stephan

  • Hi Stephan,

First of all, glad to hear you found a solution.

I understand there’s no easy way to merge entries from the “On This Day” view. The merge feature would be best if it’s done from the List View, as indicated in our guide:

As a workaround, you might want to change the date of the entries that you want to merge, to the same or adjacent date of the entry that you’d like to merge into. Once they’re closed with each other, it should be easier to merge them.

Let me know if that works for you!
