Notion recently added an AI assistant that can answer questions about all of your notes and I’m really hoping Day One adds something similar. That would be incredibly helpful! Thanks.

AI assistants are certainly a hot topic these days! They’ve triggered a lot of conversations across the internet; some very excited about them, and some wary about privacy or other concerns. We don’t have any plans to discuss at the moment regarding AI and Day One, but we’ve heard voices on both sides of this conversation from our customers.
Privacy is a core value of Day One — it’s why we support end-to-end encryption, passcodes, and concealed entries. Even in our new Shared Journals, privacy is forefront; Day One always lets you know when you’re writing something that could be seen by someone else.
We’re always interested in finding new ways to improve Day One, making it easier to use and more helpful in recording and recalling your memories. Whenever we’re considering new features (whether AI assistants or anything else), we’ll always keep privacy in mind, because we understand that privacy is a core part of what makes a journal valuable.
