Pulling data from iOS for Shortcuts or templates?

I’ve never been much into journaling, but I’m going to give it a shot to document and motivate healthier living overall, and I’m returning to Day One for the first time since about 2016 or so. I’m creating a template to use for this purpose, and I would LOVE for it to be able to pull some data directly into any entry made.

Specifically, I would like to pull into the entry any workout I did on the day of the entry. I would also like to bring in sleep data from the night prior. I understand that Apple really locks down a lot of information, but I’m hoping that there is some way to automate this information in Day One. (I use Shortcuts a lot, so if that’s an option, I’m open to it.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

  • Hello @jasonact!

I love using Day One for tracking my fitness and my overall health. I personally have a dedicated journal for this.

As you mentioned, Apple has a lot of this stuff locked down, as it is pretty private information. I personally will take screenshots of workouts or data from the Health app I want to include in entries.

Apple has allowed us to use their Journal Suggestions, which also brings in workout data. So looking at your Suggestions would also be a good place to start.
