Premium User – encryption key and can’t email support?
-
Hi, I’m a premium member, and your help section says that I should be able to go into the app and email you my issue, but when I do that, it’s sending me into a frustrating circle of doom that leads me back to “you can go go the app in support and email” but when I do that, it leads me to the page that says exactly that again, and again, and again. It’s not prompting any fields for me to send an email, and it’s not directing me to my mail client to send the email either.
I have an Android and trying to join a shared journal. It’s asking for an encryption key and insists I have backed this up (false – I have not made nor seen one). Please help. Also, please email me rather than this tedious forum business.

Do you have the default mail client installed on your device? When going to contact support, the default mail client should be launched for you to compose your message.
Without sharing the key with us, is the encryption key present on any device in the following places?
- iOS: Day One > Settings > Sync > Encryption Key
- Mac: Day One > Settings > Sync > Advanced > View Encryption Key
- Android: Day One > Settings > Sync > Encryption Key
- Web: Day One > Settings > Account > Encryption Key
We look forward to your reply!
