Performance issues: Severe UI lag on Mac when viewing 50+ entries per day

    Hello!

I am experiencing significant performance degradation (lag, stuttering, and freezing) in the Mac app.

    The Issue:
When I have a large number of entries on a single date (50 to 70+ entries), the Timeline view becomes extremely laggy. Scrolling is choppy, and there is a noticeable delay when clicking to open or edit a specific entry.

    My Workflow:
My use case requires creating 50+ separate entries per day. The app seems to struggle with rendering the UI for this volume of daily logs, even if the entries only contain text.

    Device Details:

    • Device: MacBook Air M1 16gb.
    • OS: macOS Tahoe 26.1
    • Day One Version: 2025.24 (1711)

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Create 60-70 text entries on the same date.
    2. Scroll through the timeline for that specific day.
    3. Try to open/close entries rapidly.

Is there any optimization planned for high-frequency journaling? The current performance makes the app unusable for my workflow.

    Thanks.
