On this day widget not always showing correct amount of years
-
The On This Day widget is not always showing the correct amount of years, since a few weeks.
Instead of showing “1 years ago”, it shows “0 years ago”, for instance. It’s usually incorrect in the evening and morning, then corrects itself in the afternoon.
This bug appeared years ago as well, and was fixed back then. Seems it has reappeared.

My apologies for resurrecting an old thread. I have seen this “0 years ago” widget bug on my iPad and iPhone throughout 2024. I update the Day One app on my devices pretty much as soon as a new release is available on the App Store. In fact, Day One widget on my iPad is doing this as I enter this post. I wonder if this bug has anything to do with time zone differences? On my iPad, I have several posts made on Nov 2, 2023, when I was in Japan. Widget is prominently displaying “0 years ago”, today, Nov 2, 2024, when iPhone/iPad is on Pacific Daylight Saving Time. I imagine widget is rounding the time difference down and since it is just short of a year due to time zone differences, hence the “0 years ago” perhaps? Would love to see Day One get this embarrassing bug / corner case fixed soon enough. Thank you.

@cyprianwoo I can confirm that our bug report for this is still opened. We are hoping to have this sorted in a future update to our app :)
