Old Feature – Showing pinned entries in ‘All Entries’
-
Showing all my pinned entries in ‘All Entries’ was a great feature that allowed me to overview all my favourite memories. Is it possible to bring it back or at least make it an option?
-
I updated the Mac app today and saw that no pinned entries show up in the All Entries view. I figured it was a bug. Nothing in the Mac app release notes about this change.
Then I updated the iOS app and saw in the release notes that this is an intentional change. I’m sad. I agree with the poster above, please make this an option. I found it quite useful.

Hello! Thanks for your feedback, @kq87dsvrzh and @austxnerd. Yes, this was an intentional design change. We’d be happy to pass on your feedback to the team for consideration.

”Pinned” implies that you want to see it prominently. Making pinned items less visible contradicts the very definition of the word. What is happening over at Bloom Built/Automattic recently?
-
Hello @boldwater8759,
Those entries are still pinned in the journal where they were originally pinned. We’ll pass your feedback over just as we have the feedback above.
-
I agree. This was an important feature to see ALL pinned notes under All Entries. I spent about an hour troubleshooting because of no mention of its demise on the MacOS app. Please bring this back ASAP.

Please add this back as an option.
Surely this worked as intended beforehand? I was a little annoyed to see this change I won’t lie.

Thanks @staff-reid
This has proven to be even more annoying day-to-day than I would have thought!
I really, really hope it’s changed back soon.

Came here to say the same thing! There should be a toggle to show pinned at the top of the list, otherwise what’s the difference between that and a favorite?
-
Thanks @thecohete!
Checking in with the team about this and we are planning on adding a new setting that will allow you to choose if you want pinned entries to show in the All Entries view or not.
For iOS & Mac we’re aiming to have it in the next regular version.

Thank you for adding this back! @sandymcfadden
Was relieved to see this, but also immediately devastated to see you removed classic timeline view!!
You’re really toying with our emotions 😂

Hi @thecohete! 👋🏼
You should be able to find that setting in the Advanced settings.
Day One > Settings > Advanced > Show pinned entries in All Entries
Hope that helps!
