Not able to sign in to DayOne App in iPad

I am a Day One Basic user. I have been using Dayone in my MacBook and I am trying to transition to my iPad (iOS 12). However i am having trouble signing in to Day One in my iPad.
When I select the option Sign In -> I have an account -> Apple ID, it does not do anything.
When I select the option Sign In -> I have an account -> Day One Account and provide Day One Email Id and Password, it throws the error “The data couldn’t be read because it isn’t in the correct format”.
I am expecting to see Move My Journal option after Sign in so i can transition to my iPad. However i am not able sign in. I would really appreciate if you can provide any assistance with this issue. Thank you in advance for your help
