I intend to use one journal with 4 care workers who look after an elderly relative, plus me, total 5 users. They will log their visits and briefly summarise useful information for the others. They will use IPhones or Android phones. Very happy to pay for one premium subscription but do I also have to pay for the other 4 when it’s just one shared journal. If so can’t afford it!

  • Hi, @trethvor! This is a wonderful way of using a shared journal. Thank you for sharing your use case with us!

Only the owner of the shared journal will need Premium. All other users can participate in the shared journal even with free Basic accounts. If it helps, we have more information on shared journal here: https://dayoneapp.com/shared-journals/

Unfortunately the service has gotten worse this since change: New for Everyone: Create Unlimited Journals

Prior to this premium users could share a journal and basic members could add to it just like the premium owner. This effectively made it a “premium journal”.

After the change basic users are limited to basic additions. No videos, etc.

Personally this change is the reason I will be letting my subscription expire. My wife and I just want a baby journal and it was working well prior to the change, but we aren’t going to pay 2 full subs for a single shared journal.
