More Mac features.

    Even though there are a number of features I would like to see, I have to say that I love the app!  I’m a premium user and have been using the app for over 10 years. My current streak is 1168 consecutive days!  I combine a daily journal with a photo-a-day project.  That being said, 100% of my journaling is done on the Mac.  I’m a touch typist and doing journal entries on the iPad or iPhone is just too tedious.  I look at my entries on the iPad, and maybe show one to someone, but iOS is strictly read only.  So all of these feature requests are for the Mac version.

    1. I would love to be able to browse the Apple photo library when creating an entry.  I recently noticed this was available on iOS while the Mac just has ‘add media from today’. Currently, I send selected photos to a new journal entry using the share sheet on the Mac.
    2. I would like the ability to invoke Photos from within Day. One for minor edits (crops, white balance).
    3. I would like to have the ability to create a list of favorite locations to choose from.  Barring that, I would like a default location.  Most of my photos are from a camera and do not have geolocation.  But even when I add an iPhone photo the location may be close but incorrect.
    4. I would like ‘shared journals’ brought to the Mac.  I was excited by the announcement of this feature until I learned it was IOS only.
    5. Streaks!  If Streaks are visible in the Mac version, I can’t find them.

    I’d be glad to assist with these (or submit them as feature requests for future consideration).

    1. There is a way to browse the Apple Photo Library in Day One on Mac. This is done via Finder. In Day One, click the paper clip icon > then Browse Files. Once the Finder window opens, scroll to the bottom and click Photos under the Media heading. https://dayoneapp.com/guides/tips-and-tutorials/adding-media-in-day-one-for-macos/
    2. There are not plans at this time to add editing ability for photos, but we will submit your request.
    3. We will submit your request!
    4. We will add your vote for shared journals on Mac. Shared journals is supported on the web app at https://dayone.me/login
    5. We will add your vote for Streaks on Mac!
