I am looking for the same things! A best practice of journaling is being able to go back through your journal entries and highlight the things you find most meaningful. I have been reading the “markdown guide” for Day One, and it says you can highlight text by typing == before and after the text you want to highlight, but it doesn’t seem to work. Also, I tried initiating a markdown code block by typing three back ticks
` and then the space bar, but nothing happens. (using Day One on my PC)</p> -
Hello @nzzqjcpfqp and @juliewhelancapell,
I’d be happy to submit this to the team for future consideration.
Markdown is not currently supported on the Web version of Day One. If you were trying to use the highlight or code block markdown options, that is why it doesn’t work on PC at this time.

I would agree that it would be great to have the ability to change font colors and text formatting like a basic text editor. Why is H3 only red?
-
-
This would be an amazing upgrade! I write the text of my journal in Notion so I can print it using my colorful template. Then I copy and paste it to DAYONE and all of my colors go away except for the headers that are all turned to red. It would be amazing if I could do everything in DAYONE directly and print from there, too.

Adding a vote here for this. Basic RTE formatting more than bold and italics would be huge since they don’t stand out very well when visually reviewing and entry. Colors would allow categorization of specific items to quickly identify in a visual scan. Allowing custom colors for all headers and not just H3 red also. The ability to highlight text in other colors.

Take my vote please! Yes to all font/colors/highlighting. I’ll take anything. I need colors, font sizes and highlighting at the very least. Please oh please.

Are we anywhere closer to having Color/Fonts(RTF) style formatting? Is it on a Roadmap somewhere?
-
@scottc7425ec85d I don’t have any timeline for additional style formatting, but I will share your sentiments with our design and development team for consideration.

Problem changing color of a journal… I’m using Android and following instructions I can get as far as choosing the color but then no way to save my change. (A check mark does not appear on right top corner) ? Please help to let me know what I am missing,
-
@johnjeanneprobasco are you following the steps outlined in this help guide? You cannot change the default color of All Entries – which is dark gray. Only individual journal colors can be changed.
-
On DayOne is it possible to change the color of the “page”. White is not very inspiring. Writing on an old parchment would be great
-
Hello @z3awrbp8y4!
It is not currently possible to change the color of the text background at this time. You can change it from light to dark mode, but that is the extent for now.
I’d be happy to submit a feature request on your behalf for future consideration.

Yes!
I need colored font. Different FONTS. Background colors like the old parchment suggestion sounds good.
Apple Pencil features? Doodling along the page? Yes, I’ve opened the “Draw” feature but it doesn’t allow for edge/borders where you write in the middle or similar.
Sometimes I feel like Day One is a text editor with just organization. I’d like more features in the journal entries themselves.

Thanks for your feedback, @mclifford973. I have submitted your request for future consideration!
