Merging two entries on macOS does not always delete the original entries.

  When I select two entries and they are in a different journal, then right-clicking and selecting Merge:

  (1) I get the Merged entry. It goes in the journal of the earliest of the two entries. EXPECTED

  (2) The latest of the two entries is not deleted, so I now have duplication. UNEXPECTED.

  Any insights? Is this a bug?

  Merging entries shouldn’t keep a duplicate entry, so that’s unexpected.

  Would you try the following:

  • Update to the latest version of the Day One app, v.2026.3
  • Create a screen recording and send it along with the diagnostics to us, per this guide: https://dayoneapp.com/guides/troubleshooting/day-one-diagnostics/. You can use Attn: Ticket #10822331 as the reference.

  We’ll be on the lookout!
