Menu Item macOS Big Sur

The menu item for DayOne now keeps disappearing in macOS Big Sur when clicked – I can’t use it to make an entry anymore. This is disappointing since I’ve use it almost exclusively to make entries.

I’ve solved the problem by trashing the user preferences file: com.bloombuilt.dayone-mac-agent.plist

Oops, I spoke too soon, the problem is back! After a restart, the menu item is broken again. In addition, there is now no com.bloombuilt.dayone-mac-agent.plist preference to trash either…any ideas?

Hi there @jz989ccwxt, I was able to recreate this issue on our end. I’ve gone ahead and submitted this as a bug report to our developers. I can’t offer an estimated timeframe for a fix, but while we’re investigating, I would recommend using the Day One app directly for creating entries as a workaround.

@jz989ccwxt I was previously able to recreate this issue, but on the most recent version of Day One, this problem appears to be resolved.
Could you make sure you’re using the latest version of Day One — currently version 2023.12 — to see if it’s working for you now?Let us know how it goes!

Sorry for the delay getting back…. the issue has resolved itself for me as well – I am using version version 2023.14 in macOS Big Sur. Unfortunately, the auto location feature is now broken.
