Menu Bar Entry freezes

Installed version: 2026.1 (1723)
Not sure what started this but the menu bar DayOne “button” locks up randomly. It stop responding to any clicks and I have disable it, reenable to and reenable reminders. I think it may be connected to reminders but haven’t been able to replicate it yet.

Can you confirm if the issue still occurs in v2026.2?
Also, if you can share more information on the device you are using, it can help us narrow down the cause.

Thanks for the reply. I just checked and it is still happening under 2026.2. I’m on a MacBook Air 2024. I can sometimes replicate it when the drop-down quick entry menu is down and then the DayOne app. Them the menu button/icon stops working. One time it froze with a red box around it.

The more I play with it I’m convinced it’s connected with the reminders. It doesn’t happen when that feature is disabled. This morning a scheduled reminder popped up and when I swiped to a different desktop (MacOS feature) the menu bar icon for DayOne turned red and locked up. I think I’ll disable the reminder feature for now and create one separately in the MacOS Reminders app and see if the problem stays away.

I have a similar issue, except for me, right-click works but left click doesn’t. It will work for a little while once I’ve restarted the app, but then it locks up and does nothing.

That’s really odd, thanks for flagging it with us. Normally, how long does it take to stop working? And does it also not work if you use your touchpad instead of a mouse?
If you can also let us know – how long have you been noticing this issue?
