Markdown Table Entires Issue
-
In iOS and MacOS, I encounter the following issue when trying to edit an entry that has a markdown table:
Table Notice
This entry contains a table that can’t be edited on iOS or Mac. To make changes, open it in the web app or create a copy without the table data.
Why was this change made? It is absolutely nonsense. -
To add to this: I am also unable to edit the markdown table in any way once it is added. This is completely unacceptable.
Additionally, NOTHING about this change was communicated to the end users, which for an application that handles such sensitive information is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.
For support who reads this: I will NOT accept a “corporate” answer. You WILL provide the information governing this in a clear and articulated way. We pay for the app, which means legally you are bound to answer the questions as and when able relative to the software / service.

Hi @canesshapes0u,
Is it possible that you inserted a non-markdown table directly into an entry from a web app?
The latest version of Day One for the web supports inserting tables directly into your journal entries using the editor toolbar. This feature is available on the web app only at the moment.
We’ve focused on adding and editing tables in Day One for the web first, where the larger screen and keyboard make table creation a smoother, more natural experience. Full support for adding and editing tables will be coming for iOS and Android in the future.
For now, on iOS and Android, tables added on Day One for the web will appear as read-only, so you can view any tables you’ve created or synced. If you’d like to keep writing on mobile, you can still add and edit Markdown tables in your entries.

Markdown tables are supported across platforms. Please see this guide on adding a markdown table via a code block.
I hope that helps! Let us know if you have any other questions.
