Make Handwriting Available – this is a journaling app for goodness sakes!

I am a legacy user – I’ve used DayOne, well, since day one :) I love to type my journaling and add photos, but sometimes I want to handwrite my thoughts and journaling and this just isn’t an option with DayOne. As far as I understand you can Scribble and it will change it to text – I don’t want that. You can handwrite through the Draw feature but only one page and it is not the same as a handwritten journal, it looks messy like it is not meant for handwriting but meant for drawing (obviously). I have Notability which is far LESS expensive and I can handwrite my journalling there and have lines like paper or whatever I choose. I can handwrite many pages and it works smoothly. The problem is, I love the overall look and feel of DayOne and I also would love to use one app for all of my journaling. It feels so disorganized to have this separated experience of multiple apps for journaling. If Goodnotes and Notability have the handwriting option and have for a few years now why can’t DayOne? I really don’t think it is too much to ask. Honestly, at this point it’s kind of ridiculous it isn’t an option.

    I couldn’t agree more.
Day One has just added a bit more AI to its app, along with a Gold plan.
It would be helpful to allow handwriting—and not just in a limited way like it is now (drawing and doodling).
Being able to use the Pencil (with the options Apple offers) on at least lined paper would be really great!
    I can’t wait…
