Lost Dayone when laptop hard drive replace. Can’t reinstall to Macintosh SSD
-
I hope someone can help me. I’ve just lost years worth of journal entries!!! This is really awful. Absolutely devastated. I just had my hard drive replaced on my mac book pro and discovered that Day One had disappeared. I went to reinstall the app from the app store and it is saying Macintosh SSD” because macOS version 12 or later is required. I am a psychologist who recommended this app to my patients so am now worried for them also.

I’m glad you wrote in! Our Mac App does require your device have at least MacOS 12. We want our app to take advantage of all the wonderful updates Apple added to that version so our app remains secure and working well.
If your device no longer can get updates and is on an earlier version of MacOS I recommend you try logging in with your Day One account at https://dayone.me/ . This web app is available in a browser, so as long as your browser is able to update it should work. This web app won’t have the same features as you’re used to in the Mac App, as it’s a newer app for us, but it should help you to access your entries.
Here’s the guide to getting started with it : https://dayoneapp.com/guides/day-one-on-the-web/getting-started-on-the-web/
