Lost data after app update

I’m using Day One app occasionally but minimum 2-3 times per months. I like to keep memories of my best moment with my kids and family and well as key spot I discovered traveling the word.
Yesterday, an special event made me open the app and write a new note. To my surprise, the app was unload from my phone (when I use it regularly). Never mind, I downloaded the app and discovered the new UI. The problem was, the app was empty. My 207 notes from 2014 till last month were gone. I tried many different things to restore my notes and finally made it by complete chance. Here is how:
On my iPhone 11 with the latest iOS, I opened Day One app, latest version as well. I clicked on the setting wheel top right and then on import/export. At the bottom of this section, you will find 4 options to import data. I tried with a .zip file backup that I found on my computer, but it failed. Desperate, I clicked on the other options and to my surprise “import from Day One Classic” proposed me to importe 207 notes and 41 photos. I clicked YES and within 4-5 minutes, all my notes were restored on the new app.
No idea what “Day One Classic” means, but obviously Automattic updated their app and most probably business model from Day One Classic to Whatever it is called today.
