Journal Appeared With Long Alphanumeric Title. Can’t Delete it!

On my desktop version of Day One, I have an extra journal displaying with a very long alphanumeric ‘title’ that I have never seen before and I don’t know how it was added there
Please see screen shot. It is not showing up on other platforms.
When I click on it to try to delete it, I get a prompt to upgrade to the premium version. When I go to the “Journals” area in Settings, there is no option to delete this.
How can I delete this?

Hi Stephen! We’d love to help. It appears you are experiencing a glitch where the Trash journal is appearing as the long string of characters. May we have you try signing out of Day One Sync on all devices, restart the devices, and then sign back in? Let us know if that helps.

I did that and it does not seem to be making any impact. The ‘trash’ journal (as you called it :) ) is still there on my Desktop Day One app. It does not show up on the iPad or iPhone versions.

@sgclark: If your data is synced, can you delete Day One (on Mac only) and reinstall it? See here:

Hi. I did what you suggested above and the ‘extra journal’ is still displaying on the desktop install of Day One.
Any other suggestions.

I did not move that file directory when I deleted the app previously. I just tried looking for that directory and I do not see it in the ~/Library/ directory. ‘Group Containers’ is not there.

@sgclark You should be able to find that file if you search for it with spotlight search and the exact path: ~/Library/Group Containers/5U8NS4GX82.dayoneapp2
You did log out of Day One on the Mac also, correct?
What I’d suggest you do in this case is send us a set of the diagnostic logs from your devices so we can look at why this isn’t being removed.

Ah, I didn’t do a direct search for that directory in the “Group Containers”. Did what you said above and the ‘rogue’ Journal is now gone! Thanks for your help!! You can close this one out.
