Issues adding photos to an entry on Mac
-
On the Mac version of Day One, version 2024.25 (1621), selecting “Add Media from Today” in a journal entry and trying to add multiple photos results in weird behavior. The selector closes out after selecting one photo, and when I try to repeat the process to add a second photo, that second photo never appears in the entry. I have to use the iOS version to add multiple photos.

Currently, when using the “Add Media from Today” option, you can only add one photo or video at a time. There isn’t a way to select multiple photos or videos simultaneously with this feature on macOS.
To add multiple photos/videos at a time, you’ll want to select the Browse Files option or use drag and drop from Finder or the Photos app to drag multiple photos/videos into your entry.

Hi Mike,
I understand that the feature has a limitation with multiple selections, but there’s an issue with how selecting a single photo doesn’t immediately update the entry with your selection. You have to close the entry and reopen it to see your selected photo. From the user’s perspective, it looks like the action fails.

Hi @5cwyjnwvvr – I see what you mean, and I found we have an existing bug report open for this, so I’ve added a reference there to this thread. We don’t yet have a timeline for when this will be fixed, but I can assure you that it’s on our radar.

I’ve also noticed this issue and found it frustrating when trying to add more than photo from today. I end up giving up and using the mobile app or exiting the entry and revisiting it multiple times.
