iPhone update stuck – can’t open or remove app

Hi, how do I move forward from here? Looked online but no joy. It was an ordinary bg update that never completed
it’s an XS Max on iOS 17.5.1

Apple controls the downloads and updates from the App Store. This is something a few of our users have reported to us and something other developers have reported to Apple.
We hope they will resolve this soon.
